Independence day: The celebrations were in three stages. On 12th the celebrations began in the Don Bosco English Medium School with a well prepared cultural programme by the students followed by the P.T.A. meeting. On 12th itself there another cultural programme in the Kannada Medium School. But on the day itself the real celebration was in the Kannada Medium School. The day began by the Panchayath member hoisting the National flag in the presence of all the students and teachers of the school, a large gathering of the parents and most parishioners from Holy Cross Church. An impressive display of drill by the students was the highlight of the day.

Month of Don Bosco: In very many of our Salesian houses month of August is month dedicated to Mary. But for Holy Cross Church, Pavur, this month is celebrated as Don Bosco month. As Don Bosco’s relic is not coming to us in Pavur we together with the parishioners are going to visit him at Shirva. The month began with a solemn Eucharistic celebration on 1st of August. Everyday we recite the prayer, for the success of DB’s relic’s pilgrimage, during the Mass. On 16th, the official beginning of the three year preparation for the bicentenary of the birth of Don Bosco, we at Pavur began the novena in honour of Don Bosco as an immediate preparation for our visiting the Relic of Don Bosco at Shirva.
