Christmas celebrations:
Our Christmas celebrations started on 13th of December with Carol singing to the wards by the Altar boys; one day for each ward led by our energetic parish priest, Fr. Aloysius, Bro. Francis Xavier and the Sisters from the nearby A.C Convent
On 22nd the celebrations began at 11am for both Kannada Medium & English Medium students. They put up a short and meaningful cultural programme. At 3pm X, mas was celebrated with the teachers of our schools, both Kannada Medium & English Medium and then with the Members of the Legion of Mary followed by the one with our domestic workers. In the evening it was the turn of the altar boys to have short Christmas celebration and then the Parish Youth too came together for the celebrations.
Celebrations continued on 23rd evening for the parishioners and PTA. In and around the church was illumined by colourful stars artistically hand made by our parishioners, especially the youth. It was part of a star making competition. Students from our English Medium school and other school going children of the Parish put up a beautiful, yet meaningful & well prepared cultural programme ably co-ordinated by our Sisters.
On 24th the celebrations began at 11.30pm there was Carols followed by the Solemn Sung Mass presided over by Fr. Alwyn D’Silva OFM, Manager of Assisi Press M’lore. Our people were overwhelming in their support to make the celebration a grand one. They illumined the whole church as well as the surroundings. After the Eucharistic celebrations the night sky was illumined by fireworks, another handy work of our Youth. After the midnight Mass, the Parish Priest inaugurated the crib and placed the new born Jesus and thanked the Bosco youth group for the amazing work and the beautiful crib they made for the church. The Rector of the community cut the cake and in his message he said that as the Baby Jesus in the crib attracts everyone to his side so also the unity of each one of us attract many towards Christ who is born a midst us to bring joy and peace. The people were served a piece of cake and coffee, after distribution, Fr. Alwyn, Sr. Sannidhi, Cl.Francis and our Parish Priest visited and evaluated the various cribs in each ward. Prizes were distributed to the winners. An ever Rolling Trophy was given to the first.
The culmination of all the celebration was the display of Salvation History enacted through the medium of “Magic Show” by Fr.Ivan Madtha & Team.
